the evolution of the caricature..a retrospective

When doing that lost post, I journeyed back a while and was faced with the earlier version of the chick that is a loose interpretation of me, that watches over my blog from the masthead. I did not have a masthead when this blog was first created, mainly because I'm a computer retard, but as I fumbled along and redesigned little by little, I worked it into what it is today. In the beginning, I simply took the photoshopped picture I drew and put it in as a photo at the top of each entry. I thought it would be fun to post the progression of this drawing, mainly because it was so bad to begin with, but I'm quite pleased with how it evolved. I'm not including every costume change..I'm a girl, I need some variety, you know. I also have all the mastheads saved, and hope to archive them here at some point, but I'm not really sure how to do that yet.

That last one looks just like that girl I saw through the window...except she's wearing clothes.

But if you take a step back and look at them, they clearly show a progression from the rough to the refined and sophisticated.

I'm fairly certain the images reflect a change for the more confident and positive on the part of the subject.

Keep up the good work.

And here i was saving all those pix, thinking they'd someday be collectors items. At least I have the pink convertible and Bubba with rhinestone collar and angora sweater still in their original boxes.
