Happy New Year

Ok, so it's Chinese New Year, and I'm not Chinese. Also, it's on Sunday, but I plan on being far too busy on Sunday doing things even more fun! than Chinese New Year. But that's beside the point. The point? Do you know what this Chinese New Year is? Huh?

It's the Year of the PIG! Petunia is thrilled, of course, as am I, since pigs, they are way underestimated as the cutest and most fun animals ever. Not to worry, I am here to help you see the light.

First of all, pigs are the 4th smartest animal, including humans. Yup, it's you, then apes, then dolphins, then pigs. Fun fact, huh?

Pigs are also extremely cute. Evidenced here:

and also here:

Now, I know some of you think of pigs only like this:

and well, that's fine. I just want you to consider some of the fine qualities other than salty yumminess.

Pigs are wicked smart. I almost got a pig as a pet years ago, and in that research, I learned a lot about why they are way harder to raise than, say, puppies. Pigs do really eat...well, like pigs. They will figure out a way to get to food if they can, and are well-known for using their snouts as a little suction cup to open the fridge and snack on anything they can reach. They are very quick to learn, a bit stubborn, very loving.

The Chinese (though they love to eat the piggies) attribute some very important characteristics to people born in the Year of the Pig.

To Name a few:
People born in the Year of the Pig are chivalrous and gallant. Whatever they do, they do with all their strength
They have tremendous fortitude and great honesty
They are kind to their loved ones

They could possibly be the next rung on the evolutionary ladder:

So, next time you sit down to a bacon cheeseburger, give some respect to the swine.

Happy New Year!

I think it was Red Foreman from 'That 70's Show' who said "If God didn't want us to eat them, he wouldn't have made them so tasty!"
Then again, when they look like the ones you have in the pics,I feel bad for all the bacon I eat.
It's ok though, I'm sure I'll get over it in the next 30 seconds or so!
