I know you may think that because I have the best man in the world this year, that I'm going to be all squishy and sentimental about Valentine's Day. Ha! I still think it's a silly, convoluted Hallmark holiday. That said, it has given Mr. Awesome a reason to come see me this weekend, so I can't be too angry about it. I'm still angry enough to link to this awesome Valentine Greeting, though. Enjoy.
You may have noticed (if you're not reading this in a feed reader) the "insert name here" in the masthead. I'm still determined to find a new name for this here corner of the interwebs, but am horribly undecided. Perhaps I shall have a contest, with the winner receiving some kind of super cool prize.
I leave you with pictures of Lillian, who has graduated from cutest baby in the world to cutest little girl, as she is now TWO years old. Luckily, the cutest baby slot has been quickly filled by her little sister, as you saw from yesterday's pictures.

Goodbye 2007
Posted by elizabeth at 9:34 PM Labels: blogger people, holidays, Lillian/Violet, my manFirst thing:
More Lilbitchmore Please.
Quite fitting, methinks. I've been very busy with Christmas and my birthday, all in good ways.
The short version:
Flew down to see my sister and family. Waking up on Christmas morning to see my niece experience the present-opening extravaganza, now that she is old enough to be conscious that all of that loot was for her, was priceless.
My man was sweet enough to fly down to meet me Christmas evening. We opened MORE presents, went to dinner for my birthday, met up with Falstaff and Mrs. Falstaff, who live near my sister and were lovely. Had I not felt it was necessary to avert marital disaster between my sleep-deprived sister and her hubby, we surely would have stayed too long, drank too much, and worn our welcome right out of the city. I fully expect to live up to that scenario the next time we get together.
It seems that baby Violet is not the perfectly mannered infant that her big sister was. It's only fair, really, because it turns out that the whole sleeping-through-the-night and lack-of-crying behavior? Not so normal for newborn babies. My sister is having trouble adjusting to normal baby fussiness. She's a wee bit cranky.
My man and I flew back together, and we will be ringing in the New Year here. Sweet. More on that in a moment.
We met up with F-Train and his lady for drinks and dinner last night. Rather, they met up with us, since they were cool enough to cross the river. We summarily offended pretty much everyone we encountered, while also possibly convincing them that the boys might have been the couple in the foursome. Degenerate gambling stories, beergooggle-induced sexual encounters, fetishes, and details about penis size were discussed at length. Don't ever let it be said that dining with the Bracelet and his woman isn't all about class, people.
Bob did yoga today. Seriously. Feel free to tease him at will, because I don't believe it will ever happen again.
To round out the New Year, it seems that BG will be coming to town to play superhero chef tomorrow. You can get the details of that over at his site. It should be both exciting and delicious.
I leave you with the cuteness my family's genes are capable of producing.

You should refresh your page if you don't see the new header, because it calls attention to a very important event this month. If you'll notice... that gift? It's not covered in redness and greenness. Not because I don't love Christmas presents, because I do. I love them lots. However, it's a reminder that there is a more momentous reason for gift giving, and that is my birthday. It's the day after Christmas, and yes, you may overcompensate for my parents' terrible timing with the sex having, because who has a kid so close to Christmas? It's cruel.
I've spent every year of my life explaining to people the upside and downside to that particular birthday predicament, and have heard stories of brothers, cousins, best friends with similar...or worse...bad time birthdays...MYcousin was born ON Christmas, and during the blue moon, which happens to be her parents' anniversary and one year, her mother-in-law died on Christmas morning, so she really gets screwed"
I get it. Boxing day is not the worst day. But the Brits are brilliant, and they say you should box up those extra presents...and send them to me. Thanks.
ninjas are badass
they make fancy food you know
don't eat the dry ice
thanksgiving was cool
lots of cocktails had by all
house full of bracelets
can't wait to slumber
the sheets still washed in his scent
will be hard to wake
Turkey + booze + my man + his relatives = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I'm sleepy. The triptophan or however the hell you spell that, since spell check is yelling at me, is coursing through my body and I need to be sleeping immediately.
I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving.
Smooches.
So, tomorrow is Thanksgiving and my man will be here bright and early, so while I'd love to hang and chat, I must be going to prepare for his visit. Plus, it's almost midnight, so I have to click that little publish button for the NaBlo.
Have a great Thanksgiving, all!
While I may have alluded to it in the past, like yesterday, for example...there are some members of my family who fall under the category of crazy. One of them is my mom. I have to say, though, that her brand of crazy is the well-intentioned, though sometimes completely off-her-rocker crazy. She has a big heart, and I love her anyway. To prove his amazing ability to choose women with the crazy genes, my father later married my stepmother, who lived right up to his expectations.
She is of the less self-aware sort of crazy, which is the nicer way of saying that she is blind to the fact that she's nuts. She tends to be on the overly critical side...of everyone but herself. If she has an opinion, whether or not she has that opinion based on something she really believes, or if it's simply regurgitated from a source she considers to be qualified to feed that opinion to her, it becomes fact. Because she believes it. Can't argue with that logic. Actually, you can, but then she'll play the victim of your insensitivity and she'll cry about it for so long, you'll wish you'd have just let her live in her own demented world.
This usually doesn't bother me, because it's not like I have to live with her. If my father wants to be married to a woman who voted for Bush...twice...and who only finally had anything bad to say about him when his approval ratings finally fell to like 2%, then so be it. However, there are times when her ill-timed criticisms of others cause strife in the whole family...like hmmmm...Christmas! That would be a great time to turn on the bitchiness. Way to embrace the spirit of the holidays.
So, it helps to point out that crazy mom and crazy stepmom are not the biggest mutual fans of one another. It probably didn't help that when I was a little kid, they would talk trash about each other in front of me, and I didn't quite get the whole "discretion is the better part of valor" thing yet. I was 9. What the hell did I know? I didn't understand that when my mother said stepmom barked at the moon, it was something I should not inquire about when stepmom came to pick me up at mom's house. Oops. Whatever, serves them both right for talking the smack to a little kid.
Anyway...so Christmas is approaching, and with the new grandbaby around, and Lillian just about to turn 2, you would think that all grandparents, step or otherwise, would suck up their 2 decade long issues and make nice, so we could all have a nice holiday visiting with my sister and her newly larger family. My sister and I even planned things (ok my sister did all of the real work) so that we could spend time with each side of the family separately, during the week of Christmas. Since Christmas day has been traditionally and forever my mom's holiday, we'd hang with her that day, have lunch with her the next day (my birthday), then spend time with dad and his wife. The other days would be largely non-mom inclusive, since she lives 2 minutes from sister and babies, so she is generally good with letting out-of-town family get some quality time in while she goes about her business. Add to the fact that my mom has no other close family, no husband, and I'm sure you could understand why leaving her alone on Christmas day is not an option. My dad and his wife have each other. My sister and I were going to put them up in a really cute B&B for that night and send them to dinner as a Christmas gift, something they'd never think to do for themselves. They have the traveling imagination that stretches about to a Comfort Inn.
My dad was on board. He's a team player. He thought it was a really nice idea, and was all ready to go with the flow. Until my stepmother decided that the flow? It was too easy. She is abandoning Christmas. Not just deciding to wait until the day after to show up, which is what my sister originally suggested, but actually not joining us for Christmas at all, not going to meet the new baby or to go see her grandchild who will be turning 2 years old a couple of weeks later, even though she hasn't seen Lillian since before she was walking. Why, you may wonder? Because she "cannot handle being nice to my mother"...you know, just in case she is forced to be in the same room with her for 3 minutes at some point that week. Seriously? That is some childish nonsense. The ironic thing is that this is the exact sort of behavior the stepmother has always accused my mother of...selfish and disregarding of other people's feelings.
It's infuriating and though my sister is acting like she is just fine with it, she is uber sensitive, and come Christmas, she will be feeling guilty about the whole thing. If there is one way to piss me off immensely, it's to upset my sister. I won't be feeling guilty. I am, in fact, thinking of sending my stepmother this Christmas card:
I'm sure there will be lots of these in the next few days, but what can I say? I'm a trend setter. A few things to be thankful for at the moment:
Working eyeballs. Other senses are also appreciated. The whole hearing and tasting and all of that, but just now, the eyesight is feeling particularly good to me.
Uncrazy family. Because, of course, all of the family can't be sane. There's nothing like the beginning of the holiday season to bring out the crazy in the rest of them.
An awesome man who makes me laugh daily, even on days I don't think there's much to laugh at. Everyone should have someone in their life who has this special gift. But you can't have mine. I'm keeping him.
Cute babies. I happen to have 2 adorable nieces who fill that role quite nicely, but really, all cute babies are something to be thankful for. Who else can look cute drooling? If you think you do, I assure you, you're wrong.
Scary movies. I know this seems trivial, but I really really like them. Have you seen 28 Days Later? Bloody, gory, downright creepy. But so enjoyable.
Furry animals who love unconditionally. So much better than a lot of people. If you are a person who hates animals, you should stop reading this immediately. I find you highly suspect as a feeling human being. Go away.
Then of course, there's good health and the roof over my head, and all of the regular niceties in life, and those are all cool things. Take this next week to be thankful for some stuff. It's good for you.
Ok, boys, you can all thank Kere for the reminder about what should, indeed, be your favorite holiday ever, and it's coming up soon...
Steak and BJ Day
For those of you unaware, March 14th is the man's answer to Valentine's Day. Much like most things from the minds of men, it is exactly what it sounds like. No hidden agenda, no complicated subtext. That's right, ladies. Men actually spell it out for you, but I do realize that sometimes we like to embellish these things in our heads somehow, so I will clarify.
Steak and BJ Day requires only those two things.
1. steak: Cook it, buy it, whatever.
2. blowjob: If you're really opposed to this, I'm sure he'll accept one from someone else with your blessing. He may actually prefer that, if your skills are weak. It's HIS day. Let him have his brief moments of happiness.
Steak and BJ Day does NOT require any of the following, and these things should be avoided:
- sappy greeting cards
- dressing up (however, you may dress up in something kinky while performing the second requirement)
- getting together with family to celebrate (that could be awkward)
- big, romantic gestures
- deep, meaningful discussions about your relationship
simple enough, right?
I'm not at all a fan of Valentine's Day, but I am a big fan of this holiday, because it does everything right that VDay does wrong. It's not commercial, it's not some excuse for giving and receiving material crap under the guise of romance. It's a little superficial, but it's pure in its simplicity.
I will not, however, be celebrating this year. It's just a matter of geography. Sad, huh? There's always next year.
Ok, so it's Chinese New Year, and I'm not Chinese. Also, it's on Sunday, but I plan on being far too busy on Sunday doing things even more fun! than Chinese New Year. But that's beside the point. The point? Do you know what this Chinese New Year is? Huh?
It's the Year of the PIG! Petunia is thrilled, of course, as am I, since pigs, they are way underestimated as the cutest and most fun animals ever. Not to worry, I am here to help you see the light.
First of all, pigs are the 4th smartest animal, including humans. Yup, it's you, then apes, then dolphins, then pigs. Fun fact, huh?
Pigs are also extremely cute. Evidenced here:
and also here:
Now, I know some of you think of pigs only like this:
and well, that's fine. I just want you to consider some of the fine qualities other than salty yumminess.
Pigs are wicked smart. I almost got a pig as a pet years ago, and in that research, I learned a lot about why they are way harder to raise than, say, puppies. Pigs do really eat...well, like pigs. They will figure out a way to get to food if they can, and are well-known for using their snouts as a little suction cup to open the fridge and snack on anything they can reach. They are very quick to learn, a bit stubborn, very loving.
The Chinese (though they love to eat the piggies) attribute some very important characteristics to people born in the Year of the Pig.
To Name a few:
People born in the Year of the Pig are chivalrous and gallant. Whatever they do, they do with all their strength
They have tremendous fortitude and great honesty
They are kind to their loved ones
They could possibly be the next rung on the evolutionary ladder:
So, next time you sit down to a bacon cheeseburger, give some respect to the swine.
Happy New Year!
It's been happening since the day after Christmas. The pink hearts, cupid cut-outs and general rosey-colored sickeningly sweetness. Does there really need to be a two month build up to this "holiday"? Even when I was in relationships (yes, I am a serial long-term relationship girl...13 non-consecutive years of long term togetherness is proof), I never really got into the whole This! is the day you Have To! show how much you Love Him!!! It's silly. Sure, I'd so something like make dinner, and have been known to sculpt a little something cute and silly as a gift, but really, that doesn't differentiate it from most other days, as I was likely to do those things anyway.
This year, I'm very much single, and I'm totally fine with that, but I've been feeling this weird pressure about the single-ness because of Vday. It feels like society is shaking its head and giving me the stare of disapproval over the choices that have led me to be unattached on this most important day of the winter months after Christmas and New Year. Which I guess makes it only the 3rd most important winter date (not all that important), but you'd never know it by all the hearts and the flowers and the various stuffed musical animals which dance and sing rockin renditions of love songs.
I guess my point is...chill the fuck out, Hallmark, you're giving me a headache.
If you are one half of a happy Valentine celebrating couple, I fully embrace your ability and even your joy in making with the sweetness. I just don't need to be bombarded with it every time I step into a store to buy milk.
Oh, and could the people who insist on saying "Valentime's Day" please stop? It really grates on my nerves. There was no St. Valentime, bastard cousin of St. Valentine. Ok thanks.

Posted by elizabeth at 6:39 PM Labels: blogness, fabulous gay boys, holidays, Lillian/VioletThat is hilarious to me. You can read the unremarkable review-type thingy here:
So, based on that (because I do occasionally actually pay attention to criticism...you know, when I feel like it), I reduced the ad space a bit and put more posts on the first page. The rest of it, I like. Messy is OK, it's much like the insides of my head. Besides, it will all change again in a couple of days. As for the IE discrepancies? Well, IE sucks. Sorry to those of you who continue to use it, as it will never look quite right. Though I do try...really.
Moving on...
Obviously, I'm back from the family trip. It was fun, loved seeing everyone, and was overall, a great Christmas and birthday. Everyone kept saying that Lillian wouldn't really get what was going on, being only 11 1/2 months old, and while she didn't know what the deal was with Christmas, let me assure you of this. She totally got the present thing. She indeed realized she got lots of loot, and she loved every bit of it. There was no playing with the boxes, being content with ribbon, or ignoring the real stuff. She set to work on playing with each and every thing under that tree immediately. It was a musical baby Christmas. She got a piano, a xylophone (whose mallet she wielded for the entire week as if it was a magic wand containing the power of the very universe), and a drum. She was rockin it hard.
The rest of us gave and received things that were especially needed and/or meaningful, as we pretty much channeled all of our whimsical gifting energy into the kid stuff. Amazingly, my mother, father, and stepmother were all present, and nobody lost any limbs...or cried...or yelled (much, anyway). It was a successful, if a bit weird, dysfunctional family gathering.
To offset the family togetherness, I will be going bar hopping with the fabulous gay boys this evening.
I hope Santa was good to you all. It's nice to be home. Passing out in a drunken stupor in my own bed will be really comforting.
In the spirit of the holidays, I am going to share with you my favorite breakfast secret. Yes, there is a domestic goddess who lives within me. I let her come out on rare occasions. The reason this is especially good for Christmas is because it's the easiest way to feed lots of people, even picky eaters, very quickly and it's yummy.
The basics that you'll need:
muffin pan(s):
eggs:
thinly sliced (turkey)ham...or veggie ham/bacon, etc:
a variety of add-ins (like you'd have for omelettes)
I'm going to give you the original recipe (from an old Gourmet magazine), because I still think it's the best, but the idea of this breakfast is that you can have people pick their own ingredients. Kids like to help by picking stuff, buffet-style, and putting it into their own muffin cups.
mushrooms, finely chopped
finely chopped shallot
crème fraîche or sour cream
finely chopped fresh tarragon or whatever fresh herb you like/have for garnish
Preheat oven to 400°
Use a little spray (or olive oil) for muffin pans (even non-stick ones)
sautee shallots and mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, add a couple dallops of the crème fraîche, mix well, remove from heat.
Fit 1 slice of turkey ham into each of 12 lightly oiled muffin cups (ends will stick up and hang over edges of cups). Divide mushrooms among cups and crack 1 egg into each. Bake in middle of oven until whites are cooked , about 15 minutes. Season eggs with salt and pepper and remove (with ham) from muffin cups carefully, using 2 spoons or small spatulas. Garnish so they look extra fancy and good.
TaDa:
Like I said, you can mix this recipe up as much as you want. You can scramble the eggs, use whites/egg beaters, add some cheese on top, nix the mushrooms and put in tomatoes, green onions and asparagus. This is the beauty of it. It can be custom made to the people eating, and they all cook at once, so it's perfect for a big holiday breakfast. Stick em in the oven and tear into your presents. By the time you're done, you'll have hot, yummy breakfast. Enjoy.

Ok, my momentary bah humbugs have been cured. I'll be going to see the family after all. I'm bringing Bubba, so I don't need to worry about him freaking out while I'm gone. He got his stitches out today, and he's looking a bit less Frankenstein-ish. High maintenance. The low-maintenance dog (China=mutt=healthy) will be staying with the ex. He's very excited to have her, actually. I think that he mourned losing her more than he did me when I left. I can't say I blame him. She loves him unconditionally, while I preferred it when he showered and did something other than work 20 hours a day. I'm super picky that way. So, I get to be there when Lillian has her first Christmas, and that makes me very happy.
P.S. To the woman in my building I had the misfortune of following into the elevator: You do realize that perfume is not, in fact, bathwater, don't you? You aren't really supposed to submerge yourself in that floral, musky stuff. A hint that you may have overdone it is when everyone in your wake is coughing and tearing up. We are not choked up because of your sheer beauty. We are just choking. Thanks and happy holidays.
*edited to add: I've just been made aware of the comment issue blogger beta is having. My suggestion is that all of you who haven't switched from the old beta: just do it. I'm not sure if anyone else has had trouble commenting. Hope it's fixed soon.
"Logging in with an old Blogger account to post a comment on the new Blogger is giving a “please try again later” error. Until we fix this, it may work to log in first at http://www.blogger.com/login.g, and then go to the comments page on the new version of Blogger in beta"
I was on such a good blogging roll, right? Writing lots and not even just bitching about random stuff (though maybe that is what people want/expect?? because of the title). Anyway, you may have noticed the sporadic writing, and I'm sorry. I've been in a bit of a holiday funk. I don't think I'm going to be able to go see my family for Christmas, and while the family holiday is usually a bittersweet mix of fun and needless drama, I have grown accustom to it. Also, it means I'll miss Lillian's first Christmas. Sure, she's not quite a year old, and won't really remember anything, but still. I'm going to miss her startled surprise at all of the colorfully wrapped boxes, which she will surely find more fun to play with than the toys inside them. I'll probably be able to head down for a few days next month ( I can be there for her birthday), but right now, with Bubba still not quite himself after the gnarly attack (he gets his stitches out in a couple days), work related stuff, and general brokeness, it's not happening.
*random tidbit*
On a completely different and less depressing note, the tv happens to be on right now, and tuned into HGTV. Now playing: a show called "Knitty Gritty" about....you guessed it, folks...KNITTING. Now, I realize that knitting has taken a serious turn toward the cool, and I appreciate a finely knitted sweater/scarf/hat as much as the next guy, but the show? You know the SNL NPR skits? Knitty Gritty is a metaphor for that. Both have fabulous information, but certain topics don't really lend themselves to entertainment. The sudden change from knit-one-purl-one to knit-one-yarn-over is just not riveting television. Perhaps if I knew how to knit? I don't know, but I'm changing the channel before I poke my eye out with a knitting needle (which I'd have to go buy just for that purpose).
With Thanksgiving looming, there's been lots of talk about all the things people are thankful for, and it's sweet. I'm also thankful for all the usual...family, friends, puppy dogs and sunshine. But someone needs to say that they're thankful for some other stuff. The sort of things most people wouldn't. So I will.
I'm thankful that I don't have to go to my crazy mean unfriendly grandmother's house for Thanksgiving. Now, before you start judging me about that, let me just say this. I had a grandma. She was squishy and sweet and spoiled me quite rotten, thank you very much. She died when I was 6. The other one, the one who is very much alive, and probably will be for another 30 years, is just not a grandma. She was barely a mother, and certainly never a "mom". She had loads of kids, and once they got past toddler age, they were handed to nannies and older siblings to raise. She is a huge reason that my mother needs to be mothered more than she's ever been able to mother. Which leads me to...
I'm thankful for my sister, for so many reasons. She is kind and smart and beautiful, and she made me the aunt and godmother of the cutest baby to ever live. She is also responsible and structured and very grown up. So I don't have to be. Which means she deals with most of the drama of aforementioned mother (whom I love dearly, by the way...just from a safe distance). My sister rules.
I'm thankful for men giving me something to bitch (and blog) about fairly consistently because they just can't seem to get their heads out of their asses. I'm also thankful that I'm not with a man with that whole cranium/ass problem. I was for a long time. So I'm thankful I've made at least one good decision.
So there you have it, folks. It's not very warm and fuzzy, but it's honest. Happy Turkey Day!*
*Oh, and it's apparently official Thank-Your-First-Commenter day for bloggers. Ummm this is hard, since this is a reincarnation of my old blog, which surely was first commented on by my friend Andersen, who totally coded the thing and gave it to me in pieces and held my hand as I uploaded everything to my computer. I'm pretty sure he did it because he was tired of me going on endless diatribes about absolutely nothing and figured that if I got it out of my system by spewing my angst into the void of the internet, I'd be up for talking about more fun things, like favorite sexual positions and most embarrassing drunken moments. So thank you, Andersen. I wouldn't be writing this now if not for your perviness.
Honorable mention goes to Placebo, who was the first to comment here. She rarely comments, and when she does, it makes sense only to me and maybe 3 other people, but it always makes me laugh, and let's face it. I blog. Therefore I'm narcissistic.
Where I'm lazy and just mostly link to stuff
Posted by elizabeth at 10:06 AM Labels: blogness, consume, holidaysThough I'm not a participator of NaBloPoMo, I have read so many more blogs than usual because so many good writers are. Just what I needed...more stuff to read every morning that slows down the whole productivity thing. I totally respect all the people who are participating because they've committed to doing it, and I don't have the blogging stamina to do so.
Anyway, I get to find cool stuff through all of these fine people, like this (via mere). I know there's other stuff like that out there, but this one is very detailed and pretty random. Do you know what your Native American Zodiac sign is? Your birthday in the Mayan/Hebrew/Julian calendar? Here are my favorite parts of mine (because I didn't know them before):
Your Native American Zodiac sign is Goose; your plant is Bramble.
Your birth tree is
Apple Tree, the Love
Of slight build, lots of charm, appeal and attraction, pleasant aura, flirtatious, adventurous, sensitive, always in love, wants to love and be loved, faithful and tender partner, very generous, scientific talents, lives for today, a carefree philosopher with imagination.
one thing I did know, but that I love:
Celebrities who share your birthday:
Henry Miller (1891)
Steve Allen (1921)
Mao Tse-tung (1893)
These three guys having the same birthday just tickles me. Could they be more different?
My other links are from Maggie, who, you know, needs a little more exposure via me, because she's not a big enough blogebrity with her own book and everything. Mighty goods is just fantastic, and I knew that the holiday edition would be full of some good stuff. Oh, how I wish that Lillian was a bit older. Not really, because the little baby phase is so cute, but I want her to have this and this, like immediately.
*In an attempt to clean up the sidebar, I somehow broke the Archives, but I'm working on it. Stalking list is still there, just click on in.
*Cleaned up the sidebar, so the archives and stalking list are clickable. Feeling quite proud (until Placebo tells me that I broke something again).
So, what do you want to talk about today? Me? Oh, ok, if I must.
First, let me just say that the next month or so will be a little stressful. There's the whole holiday thing, which entails the juggling of family obligation, which is usually only slightly annoying with travel details and such. This year, it's a bit more pronounced because I have some decisions to make. Big ones, involving where I live and balancing my career with practical stuff, like retaining the ability to eat and have shelter and such. Being an artist is (I think) a noble, but not altogether the most stable profession. This isn't a pity party, I'm just saying...I may begin living up to the "bitch" part of the title of this blog (more?) as the year comes to a close. It's not because I'm the grinch, it's because I have some stuff on my mind. Ok, that's out of the way.
I'm getting bored with the layout of this site. I like it ok, and I like the ability to change it up as I see fit, but I'd like to be able to add another column (Petunia is lonely down there) and convert it to the very mysterious (to me) new blogger beta "layout", as opposed to the "template" it is now in. I've tried to code it myself, which is hilarious, because in case you don't know this about me...I'm a tech moron. But hey, if anyone out there isn't (a moron, I mean, with the computer stuff), feel free to design me up a newfangled and super cute page I can then tweak until my eyes bleed, as I did with this one.
Oh, you want me to talk about boys? Well, not much to discuss, except that CYB is in town for Thanksgiving break, and he called a few days ago. I haven't called him back because well...I'm not so much feeling it. He's fun for a little while (and a good smoocher), but I tire of him easily, and find it hard to ummm...dismiss him, for lack of a nicer term, when I become bored. Besides, he just lacks the kind of passion I need to keep me interested. Basically, I don't really feel like dating just for the sake of dating, even if getting some smooch time in doesn't seem like a terrible idea.
Oh, and thanks, for those of you who've asked, Bubba is doing much better. Totally fine, in fact, as if the whole rushing to the vet thing was a complete waste of his time. I should know better by now that he just likes to fake his own near-death now and again, just to entertain himself by watching me freak out. Brat.
